In order to help accelerate provisioning and deployment, improve performance, extend lifecycle, and protect investments, the ThorTM1A is powered by AndroidTM with all the features found in the Thor VM1 and CV41 models.  The optimization of productivity over reducing IT support costs does not have to be a trade-off. Computers from Honeywell Mobility Edge use the same hardware and software platform. All of them are the same product from an IT perspective. A combination of Mobility Edge hardware platform and enterprise lifecycle tools is used to drive an accelerated and secure development, deployment, performance, and lifecycle management process with a repeatable, scalable approach. The availability of security updates is just as critical for maximizing the life of a computer as its durability. A typical Android device provides fewer security updates than Mobility Edge products. In addition to lowering maintenance costs, field-replaceable front panels enable unskilled personnel on-site to service frequent wear items rather than returning them to a repair depot. By enabling computers to be relocated between vehicles within seconds, Smart Docks can reduce support and maintenance costs while minimizing capital expenditure.
